Little Elf The Santa's Helper by Yarnland


Little Elf The Santa's Helper
I m just in love with this little elf. I think it would be a great gift for Christmas. What do u think of it? Just by adding a hook it can be used as an ornament on the tree. If not u can just add a key chain to it to hang on your bag. Its up to you where you would like this little helper to be. So here is the pattern to be used by all, but I do hope people won't sell this pattern as one of their's. Please credit me should you use or alter this pattern since it takes me a lot of time to figure out and type these up.

Materials:
  • Yarn- white,red brown,pink.
  • Crochet Hooks - Size 2.0mm
  • Yarn Needle
  • Fiberfill 
  • 4mm Eyes
  • bell
  • Stitch Marker or Safety Pin
Note:
This pattern works in continuous rounds (instead of joined rounds). 
If you are using safety eyes, you would need to leave the body part open until you finished the face part.
The pattern work mostly in single crochet unless written otherwise.

F/O, leave a long end to sew the body after stuffing it. ( don't sew it up if you are using safety eyes)

Ear:(Make 2)
Make in magic circle but with different stitches.

F/O, leave a long end and sew onto the body.

Face:

Crochet the stitch in the ( ) into one stitch

F/O, leave a long end and sew onto the body.

After you are done with all the sewing, its time to give the little one a nose. Using pink yarn just sew twice at the middle of the face. Then using the brown sewn on the "Y" shape. Then you can position the eyes and using blush or any colour substance you have give the little elf some blush and using the same just colour the inner ears. On the body there are two buttons. I just make a  knot on the yarn n sew it on the body.

Hands:(make 2)

F/O, leave a long end and sew onto the body after stuffing it.

Legs:(make 2)
R1. MR     (5)
R2-5. sc   (5)
F/O, leave a long end and sew onto the body after stuffing it.

Sew on the hands and legs at the position you would prefer it to be at. And for the final touch, I added a bell on top of the elf. Just to make it more jingle, if you know what I mean. ^-^ 
This is my 2nd free pattern, please let me know if there is any error in it. I ll try to make more to share in the future.

    I think your Little Elf The Santa's Helper is very cute and i would make an effort to make him.
    For the translation of the pattern I would like to know whether this is an english or american pattern, because the translation for the two languages ​​are different for dutch.

  6. hey, your pattern is very cute, but i dont quite understand it.
    for example: R5. 3dc,Inc dc, *3sc,Inc* (15).
    this means 3dc in each hole? or in 1? and what is the meaning of stars?
    im very confused

    1. Hi there. sorry it took me so long to reply back to you. For R5 3dc means u do 3 times of double crochet in one hole each. then continue with a increase stitch, another double crochet. For the star it means to repeat the stitch till the end of the round. which means u keep on 3 single crochet, increase till the round is done. Hope that helps.
